As beneficial as the physical and electrical properties of the insulating gas sulphur hexafluoride SF6 may be, it behaves poorly in terms of the greenhouse effect when it escapes uncontrolled into the environment.
Sulphur hexafluoride is the most effective greenhouse gas and, according to the Kyoto Protocol, is around 22,800 times more harmful than CO2! Moreover, its lifetime in the atmosphere is more than 3000 years!
Therefore, the gas must be properly and professionally disposed of at the end of its useful life. Our mission: SF6 emissions must be avoided wherever possible.
On request, we will collect worn components or replace them immediately in the case of replacement work. Without any worries for our customers.
Our trained personnel professionally disassemble the systems and extract the SF6 gas that is no longer needed from the insulation chambers, some of which are hermetically sealed, in accordance with regulations. We use our specially designed recovery plant for this purpose. This means that the “waste gas” can then be definitively disposed of or recycled. Here we work with a qualified partner company that also reworks the contaminated system components. We then recycle the residual material in a professional and environmentally friendly manner.
